About Deregulated Energy
What is deregulated energy?
Energy deregulation was approved in various states which stops large companies from having a monopoly on the market and gives you the power to select your provider. At Plymouth Rock Energy, we believe that you should have a choice on which energy provider you pick – we deliver reliable service, a personal approach and competitive prices so you’ll want to take advantage of energy deregulation.
What is an Energy Service Company?
An Energy Service Company (ESCO) is an organization (other than your utility) registered with the public service commission (PSC) that is approved to sell natural gas and electricity for your residential and/or business properties. Plymouth Rock Energy is considered an ESCO.
Who and what is the PSC?
The Public Service Commission (PSC) is charged with monitoring the deregulated energy markets like electricity and natural gas. Plymouth Rock Energy wants to ensure you that you will always get the best prices, so we provide you with the current energy market energy prices.
About Choosing a New Energy Supplier
Before choosing a new supplier what factors should I consider?
We suggest that you look at your current bill to see how much you are spending on your energy bills. On average, Plymouth Rock Energy customers save up to 10% below local utility prices. We offer customized plans to meet your individual needs where you are looking to provide energy to your home or business.
What steps do I need to take to choose a new supplier?
Switching to Plymouth Rock Energy is simple and easy.
- Have your utility account information ready.
- You can either call Plymouth Rock Energy at 855-32-POWER to connect with a customer account manager or fill out our Request a Quote form online. A Plymouth Rock Energy representative will be happy to answer all of your questions and provide you with a customized plan that fits your budget and individual needs.
If I switch to Plymouth Rock Energy, who will bill me for my energy supply?
Plymouth Rock Energy’s charges will appear on your normal bill. We will not bill you separately and you will make payments to your existing utility the same way you have been doing.
Are there additional charges when signing up with Plymouth Rock Energy?
Plymouth Rock Energy does not charge any enrollment, cancellation, switching fees or monthly service charges. We want our customers to have the power to choose comfortably, without any hidden fees. We believe that there should be no impact on the customer other than they receive lower energy prices.
Do I have to notify my existing provider to let them know I’ve changed providers?
No. We take care of notifying your previous energy provider. Additionally, you will receive a written notice verifying that you have chosen to switch to Plymouth Rock Energy as your supplier.
Will there be interruptions in my service if I switch from the utility?
No. Your local utility will use its existing gas and electric grid to deliver the energy that you buy from Plymouth Rock Energy.
The local utility is still responsible for maintaining the energy lines and reading meters, but when you are a Plymouth Rock Energy customer, you get the most competitive prices on the market. Additionally, you will receive excellent customer service and be able to reach a representative 24/7 from our dedicated customer support team.
What happens if there is an emergency or service interruption?
Your local utility will still respond to all emergencies and interruptions.
Am I locked into a contract if I switch energy suppliers?
No. Plymouth Rock Energy offers variable rates with no contract, no termination fee and no penalties. Historically, our customers save up to 10% on this rate when compared with utility pricing.
About Plymouth Rock Energy Rates
Do you offer fixed pricing?
Yes. We offer both variable and fixed rates so you have the option to lock in your rate for a period of time. This cost is forecasted based on monthly energy usage and can save you money if market prices rise.
