UX (User Experience) Designer

The UX Designer will play a liaison role between these two rock-star teams on existing software and new projects to help translate complex technical tasks and user requirements into an intuitive user interface.

The UX Designer will produce wireframes and pixel-perfect mock-ups for the business users and delivery to the development team. The new designs will alleviate pain points and make routine and occasional tasks simpler and more intuitive.

These initiatives require a talent for communication: listening, articulating and writing. A strong background in design is also required and some experience with computer science will be a plus. Data analysis is a must to spot and extrapolate trends. This will enable the designer to evaluate software in use and identify and group tasks which represent current pain points or opportunities for improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Work with developers, business analysts and end users to design and build user experience
  • Conduct user interviews and contextual inquiries to collect requirements and user stories
  • Architect user experience and design within project and platform constraints
  • Build out design concepts, interactive prototypes and user journey maps
  • Partner with developers to ensure successful implementation of the user interface
  • Travel to business sites (including but not limited to New York and New Jersey) for discovery and solution presentation (50%)


  • Degree or proven successful experience in the UX field
  • Ability to create wireframes or pixel-perfect mock-ups
  • Background in:
    • design
    • research/analytics
    • Technology/CS/development
  • Ability to easily establish a rapport with people
  • Visual, verbal and written communication
  • Ability to express complex information simply and clearly
